FAQ's

Q: My boat keeps going out to around 50 yards and just drops its bait and seems to have a mind of it's own.

A: This is entirely down to the batteries in either your boat or hand set being too low, it is a fail safe to stop your boat getting out of distance.  We suggest that you re-charge your main boat battery.  Alternatively, change the batteries in your handset.  In order for the boat to function properly, you need to use 1.5 volt batteries (not 1.2 volt rechargeable batteries).

Q: My boat has two lights on the handset, can you tell me what they are for?

A: The two lights (red and green) indicate the strength of your batteries in your handset.  At all times you must have both lights on brightly.  if one light starts to dim or turns off, replace your handset batteries straight away. If you fail to do this the boat will only have a small range 2 - 20 meters to stop you sending the boat out it going out of range.

Q: My boat is twiching when I send it out.

A: The battery in the boat needs charging or the batteries in the handset need replacing.

Q: I have charged my boat for 16 hours as recommended, but the LED on the charger has not changed colour?

A: We do not manufacture the charger and in some cases we may need to replace this. Please contact our office on 01274 642219.

Q: My LED's do not work anymore?

A: At the front of the boat you have a white box.  Open this box and on the left hand side there is a receiver.  The LED jack plug goes in ch4. Replace the jack plug.

Q: My boat makes all the right sounds but when I put it in the water there is very little movement?

A: The nut on the propellor shaft has become loose, re-tighten and this will solve the problem.

Q: After using the boat for several sessions the back door paddle does not come all of the way out?

A: This is down to the bead on the back door wire moving down slightly. The following steps should be taken to resolve this.

1. Turn the boat on, and use the rear lever on your handset to open the door. If the door does not open to a full 90 degrees from the back of the boat, unscrew the servo arm that the rear door wire attaches to and move it forward about 1-2mm and retry the rear door.

2. If this has still not solved the problem of the paddle coming all the way out follow the next step.

3. Turn the boat off, this allows you to move the servo arm to un-clip the wire from the servo arm. This makes adjusting the bead easier. Now adjust the bead so that it is obout 1-1.5mm from the white tail that sticks out of the back of the boat. This is trial and error to suit your style of fishing. If you over adjust the bead you may find that when you connect everything back together the rear door does not open when you use the lever on the back of the handset, all you have to do is move the bead down slightly. This will solve the problem.

Q: I have broken the wire on the rear door, how do I replace it?

A: Please follow the following steps.

1. Unscrew the locking mechanism on the inside of the rear door and unclip the broken wire.

2. Turn the boat on (important)

3. The new wires are normally pre-adjusted to the correct length so now thread the wire through the white tail protruding from the rear of the boat and re-attach the locking mechanism to the inside of the rear door.

4. Affix new clip (not provided) but a standard carp clip will do, and also thread a 1.5mm wire crimp on to the line (not provided)

5. Now thread the wire back on it's self through the wire trace crimp and start to tighten the wire until you hear the rear servo making a noise, slacken the wire back off until the noise stops and crimp the wire trace crimp. Cut off the excess wire.

6. You may need to follow the steps in the previous question to set the paddle correctly.

Q: My boat has forward but no reverse?

A: On the very early boats this can mean that th speed controller has problems, please contact our office and we will be happy to help on 01274 642219.

Q: The lid on the boat is stiff and the button sticks sometimes?

A: This is due to the screw holding the button in place been too tight slightly slacked the six screws holding the locking mechanism in place.

Q: I have had my boat a while now and would like it serviced?

A: We do offer a servicing facility, please contact our office on 01274 642219.
